Position Title: Relief House Manager
Program: The Guardian Shelter for Battered Families Natchez Rapid Re-Housing Program
Primary Responsibilities: The Relief House Manager of the Guardian Shelter/Natchez Rapid Re-Housing Program is responsible for the operation of the shelter and assisting clients enrolled in the supportive service program; screening crisis calls, making referrals to other agencies when appropriate, and admitting/discharging clients with instructions of Social Worker and/or Program Director. The Relief House Manager will cook, prepare and serve meals for shelter residents. This position is scheduled to work on weekdays and nights, weekends and Holidays as scheduled.
Knowledge/Experience: The Relief House Manager of the Guardian Shelter/ Natchez Rapid Re-Housing Program must have a High School diploma or GED; a valid state issued driver's license with a good driving record; knowledge of general office procedures, and use of equipment in the office, and general kitchen appliance/equipment operation; full knowledge of cooking in large quantities a must, good communication skills, working with individuals in crisis, with mental and physical disabilities, and the ability to work as a TEAM member is necessary.
Skills/Abilities: The Relief House Manager must possess excellent communication skills in working with Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault survivors who are experiencing challenging situations and circumstances. Strong work values and ethics, dealing with a culturally diverse clientele of women and children who are at-risk. The successful candidate will have the ability to follow policy and procedure, while remaining self-reliant and resourceful.
