Catholic Charities of Jackson does not have an arrangement at this time to accept refugees from Syria or surrounding countries. The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) works with the United Nations to identify communities which can support refugee families. These families are vetted before they leave their refugee camps and are supported by refugee resettlement programs in the communities where they are sent. Catholic Charities in Jackson has for more than 25 years run a program which has accepted unaccompanied refugee minors (URM), however, Catholic Charities has not been asked to accept any from Syria or the surrounding nations. At this time, Jackson is not considered a site for resettlement.
