He’s also a founder and director of operations of the William Magee Institute for Student Wellbeing at the University of Mississippi, dedicated to saving and changing lives around the mental health and substance use disorder crisis. The Institute is name after his late son, William, who died of and accidental drug overdose.
David is a frequent speaker in schools, addressing students and parents on well-being challenges and solutions. He’s also been a daily newspaper publisher, small business owner, and a regular guest on CNBC, and once hosted a notional cable TV program, The David Magee Show. He lives in Oxford, Mississippi.
