Host Homes

The Host Homes Program provides temporary emergency shelter for runaway and homeless youth, ages 12 to 17.  Servicing young people from Rankin, Madison, and Hinds Counties and across Mississippi, these homes provide a safe environment that is focused on eventually retuning these youngsters to their own home or finding alternative placement when necessary.

The professional staff help youth and family
work through their problems by providing them with round-the-clock crisis counseling, individual, family and group counseling during their 21 to 45 day stay.  The staff also provides 24-hours telephone and walk-in counseling and referral services to assist young people and families in resolving problems before youth run away.

Project Safe Place, an innovative outreach service of Host Homes, provides a network of Safe Place sites throughout Jackson community where youth can go for immediate help.  Adult volunteers are trained in crisis intervention offering assistance in transportation to youth who cannot return home.

-Up to 21 day shelter care for youth
-Up to 45 days shelter care and diagnostic and evaluation services to youth who are in custody of the Mississippi Department of Human Services.
